Leather bags are often the best choice when it comes to usefulness and looking good. It is popular among ladies due to these reasons. It allows you to carry a number of items ranging from wallets to tissues to cosmetics. It is not hard to understand the different styles of leather bags available, the types of leather used to make these bags and finding the right brand.
Leather bags come in a wide variety of styles, differing in shape, colour and capacity. There are leather bags available depending on your needs and wants.
  • Clutches are typically the smallest Bags available, but they do still range in sizes. Clutches are meant to be small enough to be carried with just one hand and they usually are able to hold only a small wallet and a cell phone inside. They are not the best choice when it comes to daily use, but they are perfect for formal events when you do not want to carry bulky purses.
  • Hobo bags are some of the largest styles of leather bags available. They usually don’t have any rigid structure, so they adjust to the shade of the contents inside. They have shoulder straps to hold them by hand or sling them over the shoulders.
  • Messenger bags have long straps that allow them to be placed over one shoulder and extend across the torso so that the bag falls on the opposite side of the person’s body. It’s a hands free design and these bags are structured and typically look large.
  • Tote bags are the largest leather bags by size and they come with set of short straps or one long strap that can extend over the shoulder. They have a solid bottom for support and no structure anywhere else, allowing them to take the shape on the contents inside.



Leather Bags are made of different kinds of leather and each leather type has their own feel and slightly different texture, giving a unique appearance.
  • Cowhide leather is made from the skin of a cow. It is one of the highest quality types of leather and it is commonly used in making leather bags. Apart from high-quality appearance, the leather is tough and can withstand heavy loads without sacrificing its good look.
  • Lambskin leather is made from sheepskin and it has a much softer feel when compared to cowhide leather. It has a high quality look, but is used only on certain types of leather bags as the soft feel of the leather makes it prone to damage and tear when used extensively.
  • Faux leather is artificial leather and it is hard to differentiate it from real leather. They have almost the same feel, texture and look of real leather and is a cheaper alternative to animal leathers.
